RETRO DROP ARM DAYBED, SOFA.Here up for auction straight from a house clearance being sold with NO RESERVE is this Retro drop arm Daybed, I believe it to be totally original dating from around the 1940/50s.This daybed is structurally sound but is very dusty, faded, worn, and has one hole on the left arm, all clearly shown in the pictures.This style Daybed is very desirable and is well worth a recover, it certainly would need one to bring it back to its former glory.Please study all the pictures as I feel they show all the faults and are a fair representation of the item.As this is a NO RESERVE auction this item will sell to the highest bidder regardless of price.Height 30 ins.     Height to seat 17 ins.Width-Length 64 ins as sofa.    Width-Length with arms down as bed 80 ins.Depth 28 ins.

Pair of double drop end sofas / sofa beds – reupholstery project Cheap Sofabeds For Sale

This pair of sofas are new enough to have fire tags (photo 6), but have a
classic look.  They do need reupholstering (see photos 9 and 10 for examples of the worst damage).  A previous owner’s cat had his way
with the arms, and my plans to reupholster kept getting postponed until the sofas
need to be replaced due to moving house.  Now the new sofa has arrived and these need to go.

Both sofas have two drop arms with four positions (photos 1, 2, 4, 5).  The arms adjust by use of a lever near the floor (photo 7)

As sofas they measure 65”/165cm wide, 30”/76
cm high, and 31”/80cm deep.  The seat is 46”/117cm
wide, 21”/53cm deep and 15”/38cm high.  Each drop arm adds 15”/38cm width, but only
12”/30 cm is really usable due to the curvature at the top of the arm.  Total width with both arms down is
76”/193cm.  The backs also flip down
making the sleeping space nearly 30”/76cm deep (photo 3). 
These sofas can be used individually as single beds or put together for
a king sized sleeping space.

The sofas are on casters (photo 8), but one caster is missing the
ball.  There may also be damage to a spring in one
sofa.  It doesn’t sound like more than
one, but I haven’t opened the sofa up to look.

Despite the work needed to bring them up to great condition these sofas are quite
comfortable for sitting or sleeping, and could be terrific with some work.
